(Dan Tri) – British Prince Harry and his wife, American actress Meghan, will `retire` as senior members of the royal family.

Reuters quoted a January 18 announcement from the British Royal Family saying that Prince Harry and Meghan will no longer use the titles `Duke` and `Duchess`.
This decision will officially take effect from spring of this year, the announcement said.
The above announcement was made after Queen Elizabeth II had an emergency family meeting earlier this week to discuss the future role of Prince Harry and his wife when the couple suddenly announced they wanted to withdraw from their roles as senior members.
In a statement released yesterday, the Queen said: `Harry, Meghan and Archie (the couple’s first son) will always be beloved members of the royal family. I recognize the challenges they have faced.`
Prince Harry, 35 years old, is the 6th person in the line of succession to the British royal throne.
The reason Prince Harry and his wife gave up their role as senior royal members is said to be due to pressure from the media.
Currently, Harry’s small family is in Canada, which is expected to become their new settlement.
