The classic straw hat fashion was born

Straw hats are classified into many types according to woven materials corresponding to texture and durability such as hemp, coarse fabric and jute.

According to the document `Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry` written in French Gothic script, it is recorded that the straw hat was born between 1412 and 1416. Initially, the straw hat was an accessory reserved for men.

The transition is volatile

The straw hat was further developed in 1865 and the early 1900s in the United States through the invention of the first cowboy hat by a hatmaker named John B. Stetson.

The Stetson hat brand is an icon of American style to this day.

However, it was not until 1906 that the `Western straw hat` officially became a fashion symbol for American gentlemen when images of President Theodore Roosevelt’s visit to the Panama Canal construction site appeared in the newspaper.

A groundbreaking return

Having gone through so many obstacles, the straw hat has become an indispensable accessory, especially in the summer.

At the Spring – Summer 2018 fashion week, leading brands simultaneously brought back the straw hat fashion spectacularly.

Delpozo is unique with its bow-shaped straw hat, AWAKE is unique with its high-pulled straw hat, Loewe is an elegant straw hat, and three fashion houses, Missoni, Giorgio Armani, and Jacquemus, have oversized brimmed hats.

Notably, Gucci has a stylized design of a flat-top straw hat with a drooping brim.
